Organization

Shirley presented our move to this wiki. The material that we post can be updated by any student once they register.  It can be read by anyone on the web once they find it.  When will Google pick it up?

A simple way to create your project could be by appending your project to this wiki.  While a wiki would not be adequate for a commercial website, you should be able to demonstrate your intent adequately.  For the course grade you will be evaluated on the content and structure of your webpages, not on the technology you use to create it.

Shirley will be available at 1PM before the Friday 21 April 2006 class to help with individual problems in setting up your project.

Recall the collegial atmosphere of the course.  If you have a  question, ask someone who seems knowledgeable or all of the class. If you look at another project, and find you could help, make suggestions.  If you find errors, omissions, or lack of clarity in the notes we post let us know.

Projects

We expect every student to have a project defined now.  Let us know. You are not able to do the first writing assignment: Describing the setting of your project, without that.  It is not which project you chose that determines success, but that you have one: When you come to a fork in the read, take it [Yogi Berra].

History 1.

We took a break to look at the oldest computer equipment on display at Gates,

on the second floor.  If so much has changed in 50 years, how much will change in the next 5 or 10 years? Your cell phone has much more computing power than any equipment from that period.  How will your project interact with it?
