I think the chat book has not reached its best.
So many classmates' addresses are blank.Some addresses
seem out of date.The chatbook should be informed to
more people.

    95届同学目前主要有以下几种去向:
    1) 在美国各所大学就读;
    2) 在北京大学继续学习;
    3) 在北京,天津,深圳,广州等地参加工作;
    鉴于目前95届同学比较分散,短时间内靠少数人的力量很难统计出所有
           hjiandong@hotmail.com
邮箱中;
    有如下一些条款需要统计:
    姓名 性别 年级 专业 学历 工作单位 职务
    通讯地址 邮编 联系电话  寻呼号码 电子信箱

    每位同学可以根据自己的实际情况,按上面列出的项目组织电子邮件。
    同时,系里还委托我们向大家发出倡议:为了支援计算机系的建设,请

In response to Wang Jun, Chen Bin and Gao Jin's suggestions, I made some
changes to the cgi script.

1. Now the messages are displayed in backward order of time, i.e.,
the latest message will always appear on the top.

2. The time of the last posting is shown on the main alumni page
so you can see if any new postings exist conveniently. No need
to go to the chatbook page if you've seen them all. I think
grouping them is probably not worth doing since we won't have
too many messages anyway, and showing them in one window will
ease reading.

3. Invocation of the message-posting and address-updating cgi
script is now password protected. The user name is alumni, and
the password is the full name of our department chairwomen, (at least
the one when we graduated). The format should be $last_name$first_name
in lower case. Hopefully everyone still remembers her name.
Viewing messages and addresses are still open to the world.

Special thanks to Chen Bin, Wang Jun and Gao Jian for their valuable
suggestions. I hope everyone will be able to drop by and say something
to our fellow classmates. Someday you will find out how valuable
our old classmates could be for your life and career.

Oh, by the way, just call me Liu Xiang later on. That way I'll probably
sound more familiar to people. Dan is something for my boss and American colleagues.

Yeah, Chen Bin is right. Once there are too many messages, it would be a pain to scroll down the whole page.

It would be great if the messages could be grouped by date(by month for instance) and each group has a list of hyper links to the real notes. I wonder if our Dan could spend the time to do it.

Well, I would like to say hello to all the classmates. I wish you the best.

Jian
